Here are some of the things we're doing this year. It's not an all-inclusive list since occasionally we will meet to build things et cetera. Would you like to see us at your next festival or having us visit your school? Feel free to contact us anytime about having us over for your next event.

Tejeda Middle School History Fair :

San Antonio, Texas. Come see us, along with other groups like Legio VIII (Romans!), as well as Dark Ages groups, ACW groups, Native american groups, and a host of modern militaria, including an Air Cav group that flies in a helicopter and lands on the football field.

The University of Texas at Austin will will host its ninth annual Explore UT: The Biggest Open House in Texas. We'll be assisting the Department of Classics with their interactive exhibit: "Exploring the Ancient Celts."

      Location: Northeast San Antonio. Along with other historical reenactment groups from the area, we will be presenting the Iron Age with hands-on demonstrations for the students and visitors.

      In 2009, AD43 Castra Lafe will be sponsoring an event that will approximate and explore the the conditions of the Germanic frontier fort, the march of Varus's Legions and the aftermath of the battle. The Official website of the event.

      Leather Workshop :

      Location: Tandy Leather Factory, 5370 Walzem Rd., San Antonio, Texas. Learn the historical leather working techniques used by the Celts and Romans. We will begin with an introduction to techniques and materials, then spend the rest of the day crafting.

      Location: Fiesta Gardens, Austin Texas. This Biggest and Best festival of it's kind around here. See Us and the Romano-Brits in a friendly setting in our "village" at the southwest corner of the festival.       Iron Age Swordmaking :

      Location: The Univeristy of Texas at Austin, Waggoner Hall, Room 201, Noon - 1 PM. The presentation will include slides from the Kelvedon excavations, from the British Museum, and from several Scottish museums.

      Location: at Friesenhahn Park in San Antonio, at 1pm. Meet with a visiting documentary photgrapher to capture us in Iron Age and Roman kit.

      The Whole 9 Yards :

      Location: Austin, Texas at the Howard Johnson, 11:30 - 1 PM. Seminar on many aspects Iron Age textile production as shown through artifacts and experimental archaeology. This is presented to Lonestar Mensa Group at their annual celebration. This will include a powerpoint presentation and live demonstrations. Reenactors will be in full kit.

      Things Celtic 10th Anniversary :

      On St. Patrick's Day we'll be at Things Celtic to celebrate our favorite Celtic shop's first decade! Aside from Living History demos, there will be a children's area (with crafts, games, etc), a "sheep to sweater" demo from St. Brigid's Gate Farm (live sheep, spinning demo), a "Family History" booth, the Austin Celtic Association will have a booth, and of course, Live Music.

      Explore UT: The Largest Open House in Texas :

      The University of Texas at Austin will will host its eighth annual Explore UT: The Biggest Open House in Texas. We'll be assisting the Department of Classics with their interactive exhibit: "Exploring the Ancient Celts." More than 30,000 visitors are expected to participate in a day of free hands-on activities, performances, demonstrations and lectures. Times are from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

      Imperial Rome Exhibit :

      Over 400 artifacts from the extensive collection of the National Archaeological Museum of Florence, as well as loans from other leading Italian museums in Rome, Pompeii and Ostia Antica, illustrate the diverse lives of Romans, from emperors to common citizens." This exhibit will have it's debut at the Houston Museum of Natural Science this weekend and will be attended by several reenactment groups (Coritani, Legio IX, Legio VIII, Legio X and The Roman Way).
